Walk with dinos..

It is my first trip to Changi Airport Jewel, and my first walking trip with friends after circuit breaker.

Took leave on 4 November and gathered 4 friends to join me for the trip (we are only allow to be in group of 5 for any gathering).  However, 2 of them drop off and left only the 3 of us.

At first, it was just to visit Jewel because I haven't been there and many were saying the rain votex is very nice and walk within the Jewel with all the shops was nice, interesting and cooling. Then came the announcement on the opening of Jurassic Mile, an outdoor display of dinosaurs through the Changi Coastal Park Connector.  We decided since we are going there might as well go to Jurassic Mile too.

We started from T2 and walk about 4KM till the end of the Jurassic Mile and then walk another 4KM back to Jewel for lunch.  The Jurassic Mile itself was about 1KM, the trip from T2 is about 3KM.  Flat road all the way so it is not difficult to walk. however, if you want a short trip, I will suggest you start from T4 for the walk, as it is near to the Jurassic Mile. 😁

It was drizzling when we started the walk, but the sky was cleared during our walk.  Weather was nice and cooling and the best part, there isn't a lot of people so we can take our photos at our own pace.

After the walk we went for a late lunch at Burger and Lobsters, as the name implies atas food.

Then we walk around the Jewel and took photos of the rain votex and walk round until it is time to go back.

A nice break and nice exercise to burnt away the food.

End of Circuit Breaker and IUD insertion

Today marks the end of circuit breaker period.

And today also marks the day a hormonal intrauterine device (IUD - Mirena) is being inserted into my uterus to regress simple hyperplasia without atypical and prevent excessive build up of lining in the uterus. Simple hyperplasia without atypical has about 1% chance of turning atypical and subsequently may result in endometrium cancer.  It was detected after I did a procedure to check on my uterus for spotting and heavy cramps.  My mum had endometrium cancer and my sis had breast cancer, so I think I should whatever prevention there is and treat it if it is detected early.

The insertion process is damn painful and uncomfortable. It is really shitty experience.  I think I will go for surgery with GA if it is to be removed or replaced.  I really don't like the feeling of my cervix being pry open.

I will have to go back and check on my IUD after 3 weeks to make it is still in place.  In the meantime, I will experience bleeding and cramps for a few months.  Sign ... Let's hope this IUD will not give me any problems.

And back to circuit breaker ending, as we enter phase 1 of re-opening, schools, shops and services will start to open up albeit slowly and carefully with safe distancing and practice proper hygiene.  Close family members are allow to visit each other, with restriction in the number of visitors.  My brother will be allowed to visit us, and I look forward to seeing my nephews again.

However, I still can't go back to office as it is still WFH whenever possible for all staff.  Let's hope phase 2 will kick in end of the month and we can start going back to office.  I am sure we still need to practice safe distancing in office even after all the phases of re-opening. But that can't be help if we are to slow the the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Well, we hope for the best.  I am sure we can tahan all these.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

The start of the year had been hit hard by this virus named as Covid-19 (it was initially named Wuhan Coronavirus, because it was suspected to start from there).  All over the world, people are getting infected and died, especially the elderly with chronic illnesses.  Countries got locked down, everyone has to stay at home and not linger around unless it is for essential things.  Economy got affected, airlines down all their planes, factories and businesses close down, traffic literally is a standstill.

There has been community spread in Singapore as the number of unlinked cases increases.  Foreign workers dormitories became the largest cluster of spreading.  Last week, the govt decided to lock down Singapore and urge everyone to stay at home or work/study from home and not to go out.  This is to minimise the contact with people who might spread the virus.  Everyone has to wear a mask when they are outside and maintain at least 1 meter distance.  Seats are being sealed off so that people don't sit together and linger outside.

I have been working from home since last week.  Everything is at work is as usual for me as most of my work can be done online.  But the weather in Singapore makes it unbearable to work especially when there is no aircon at home. Also, there are too much distraction at home.  Parents who keep wanting your attention.  Fridge and tidbits that keeps calling out to me.  Hopefully, the situation improves and I can go back to office to work.  I missed the aircon.

Nobody knows when this virus will go off or when a vaccine is available.  Every countries is trying their best to control their own situation and make sure the number of infected person will be reduce soon.

This may be a wake up call for all of us.  To take care of our health and keep ourselves clean and hygiene. It is also a wake up call to us to take care of our environment too.  During this lock down period, we finally see blue and clear skies throughout the world.  We finally allow some space for the wild animals to linger in the cities.  We finally spend quality time with our families, we finally spend time to exercise our bodies.

Let's hope once the virus is no longer a threat and lives go back to normal, we can still work from home and spend time with our family and exercise our bodies.  Hopefully, all of us will continue to keep ourselves and our environment clean and hygiene.

Let's hope...
